DIZZEE RASCALON TOUR IN AMSTERDAM

Dizzee Rascal is currently on tour smashing up show’s all over Europe. Last night I hooked up with Sem for the show in Amsterdam. They tore it down, the venue was literally shaking from the amount of people up in there going nuts. Amsterdam definitely know how to have a good time, check the footage below, keep your eye’s pealed for the dude who invaded the stage before getting man handled out of the venue during the performance of Holiday.

DEREK B RIP
Couldn't believe this one when i heard. Derek B was only 45 when he sadly passed of a heart attack. Derek B really did pave the way, for all UK MC'S especially those now getting chart sucess like Chipmunk, Dizzee, etc. Starting out in the early 80's as a rare groove dj, he soon hooked up with the leading Pirate radio station LWR, and his "Good Grove show" used to come on after Westwood. By 1987 he was killing it in the clubs such as "The Wag" in Wardor street, and then signed to Simon Harris and Chris France's "Music of Life " record label which saw the release of his hits Good Groove, and Bad young brother. Derek B paved the way also for the following reasons...

He hit me back, and seemed genuinely touched. He said he checked out my radio show on Kiss and told me to keep up the good work... DEREK B AKA DEREK BOLAND...AKA DJ EASY Q...RIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So if you read my previous posts, then you will know , that i'm currently in the middle east working on this project called Lyrical Alliance. Im finding the best mc's in this region, and then they are coming over to Londons Round House for a series of work shops, then back over to London in May to perform alongside a Huge US and UK headliner (whom i cant mention)
All i really knew about Beirut was the images i saw growing up on TV, which was that of a country at war. Even tho peace over there is fragile, Beirut is now one of my favorite cities in the world. I met tons of dope MC'S and beat maker. It's funny, because back home in london people like to over exaggerate their ghettoness. I met people in Beirut who learnt to shoot a AK47 before they learnt how to play a playstation......The city has bullet holes all over the building, and is a constant reminder of what went down over their.
The food is amazing...they have the weather...the sea....and some of the koolest people you could meet... Check out the photos below.

Another Lord Finesse mix, this time an upfront selection from 1996. Side A is strictly Hip Hop and features Artifacts, Ghostface, Natural Elements and MOP. The flipside is more chilled out with Faith Evans, D'Angelo and Keith Sweat.
Sound quality isn't flawless on this but it definitely has that authentic cassette feel to it!

First up out of DJ MK's stash is this tape of Funkmaster Flex's 'Street Jams' show on Hot 97 from October 1995.
Flex is at his best when he's just allowed to play what he wants and it sounds like he's doing just that here - the big tunes of the day like 'Danger' are dropped alongside some old skool, breaks and R&B. Other music featured includes Heather B, Kaotic Style, D Nice and Biggie aswell as some Wreckx N Effect, Father MC and Lil Shawn.
