SATURDAY JUNE 28TH......GULLYVER WITH DJMK- A-CYDE-ROOTS MANUVA @PLASTIC PEOPLE

Soooooooo...got back from Paris at 5pm...then got ready for gULLYVER, which is the monthly club night myself and my homeboy A-cyde put on last Saturday of every month at the legendary plastic people in east London. Plastic people is one of the last great clubs left in London. It's small, it's hot, and grimy down there but it also has THE best sound system iN London town. A track like OC's times up....i ain't played that in time in a club but if u drop that at Plastic it sounds ridiculous...so loud but so clear....

The session was crazy, people were going insane...Roots manuva was hosting the nite, and i managed to drop my favorite records whether it be bashment, hip hop, soul, funk, pop what ever... The crowd refused to go home, and as you can tell by looking at the pix when we left at 5am the sun was fully up..Another legendary party!!!!Here's some pix...We will be back in September to continue the saga...

DJ MK IN PARIS

Bonjour!!! I ve been out in Paris since Wednesday with Roots Manuva doing press and shows. Since we got there it was non stop. Did there 2 main TV shows and some big parties. We did a party for one of their premier radio stations radio Nova. The crowd were going nuts....people were getting crushed...people were crowd surfing....We kept on having to stop the show to get the crowd to calm down..Rodney's new album is out in Sept (Slime and Reason) and like i said before it's the best thing he's ever done. Shout out to Kenna who i bumped into out their whose on his grind hard...Here's some pix of what went down....

In 1985 when i was growing up as kid in NW London i loved Music and Football!! I used to play for a Sunday league team called St Marys and St Andrews which was based in Dollis hill NW London....

I was pretty good at football and we were a good team...sorry a great team and we'd win the league nearly every year....Our rivals were the Chalk Hill Dynamos....Now Chalk Hill estate was one bad area in the 80's...so bad they had to knock the whole thing down and start again...When we used to play them at home it would be right in the middle of there estate which got me looking at all the Graff pieces that were surrounding the pitch.... From then on i got into graffiti and hip hop in a big big way....In 86 I'd have to take the tube every day from wembley pk down to bush, so this gave me the perfect opportunity to get up!!!

The trains in London from 86 were bombed HARD!!! So many sick sick pieces...whole cars, top to bottom whole cars,panel pieces, sometimes I'd see 10 pieces a day running on the tube....Now as we all know pieces get buffed as soon as there done and nothing really runs to tuff.....In the 80's and early 90's the tubes (mainly the big and lil met line) were like an art gallery...Shout out to all the writers from back then i used to check for...some are dead, some became crack heads, some got normal jobs, some went on to the art world side and are killing it... and some are still doin there thing...(shout out to ZOMBY)
