DR DRE MIX TAPE 1988

OK....More heat from the MK archives. Going though the dusty crates of my tape collection found about 4 Dr Dre Swap meet mix tapes. 3 of them are from 1987 and this one is from 1988.
Dre is killing it in this mix. Dude is getting busy cutting up joints like Beats to the rhyme, It takes two,as well as a NWA freestyle. This is recorded on a 4 track which makes it even more doper as he does intros for both sides.
What i find strange about this tape is that Dre is still actually making mixtapes in 1988. By that time NWA were out and getting bigger by the minute, and he already had the (dodgy) success of the world class wreckin crew. Must have just loved doing mix tapes!!

Detox is supposed to be dropping by the end of the year too.....Mmmmmmmm, i wonder....

You know damn well these "tapes" aren't from your archives. You got these of the internet last year just like 99% of the people in the world did.

Fuck, just admit the shit. So sick of people trying to act like they have been collecting since '88. Like you were in Cali buying mixtapes from the swap meet back then.

Not trying to pick on you but damn...

Don't get mad, either you really had the tapes and this comment doesn't matter or catch feelings and prove you "hiphopness" about how you have been down since '86 and DJ'd for Low Profile and shit.

Peace.

Yo D,
thanks for your comment.
If i was you and i was reading this blog i'd probably be thinking the same thing as you, however your wrong.
1st of all lets get something CLEAR...Unless stated on my post EVERYTHING i put up on this blog IS from MY collection....not some shit i DOWNLOADED on the net...

I may look young but im over 30 and i've been into hip hop since 83 and been collecting tapes since 84. Beleve me im not no little 22 year old kid whose trying to act like "ive been collecting since 88".... I ve been collecting since way before....I' ve been in this game for a minute so go and learn your history.....
Yo the whole reason i started this blog was because i've got thousands upon thousands of mixtapes and radio shows from when i was a kid to the present day, and alot of this ish will never get heard unless i put it up.....
Again do your research son, ive been selling mixtapes since 1990!!! Then i went on to sell other dj's tapes like Stretch Armstrong, Tony touch, clue etc.....This isnt something im just downloading from the net, i know these dudes and used to do business with them....ask them yourself....you can find all of there emails on there websites...

Before the internet and before hip hop was as huge as it was now, apart from locking into pirate radio or westwood, the only way you could hear other radio shows was by having friends in NYC who were taping those radio shows and then they would send them over...Or if a friend was going to the states you'd get him to tape any hip hop you heard...Thats how we did back then...

If you want i'll take a picture of my collection and put it up if you dont believe me???

If you live in the london area email me at emm_kay@hotmail.com, and i'll take you to my lock up and you can see my tape collection for yourself.

You can even look at old hip hop connection.magazines from 1993 and you'll see an add with my name on it selling mixtapes.!!!!!!!..You may be a new jack but i certinly aint, ive been there , done that, and took a picture, and i certinly dont have to prove my "Hiphopness"

Buy leaving a post like you did and by not knowing your shit, you've made yourself look pretty stupid, but thats ok,you'll learn .
I was THE 1st dude in London to sell properly packaged mixtapes with covers since 1990.....Ask any dj from the last 20 years and they'll tell you.....
So you know what im gonna do now....im gonna go into the "MK ARCHIVEVES" and post some more heat........Stop hating....PEACE

A LETTER TO THE LETTER D... YOU AINT GOT A CLUE ABOUT THIS SHIT, I'VE BEEN SWAPPING AND BUYING MIXTAPES OFF OF MK SINCE '93 AND I'VE SEEN THE TAPES AND GOT PLENTY OF THEM MYSELF. BEFORE THE INTERNET THE ONLY WAY WE COULD HEAR DJ'S FROM STATES WAS BY GETTING THE MIXTAPES SENT OVER BY OUR PEEPS OVER THE WATER. YOU SAY THAT YOUR NOT TRYING TO PICK ON MK BUT TO ME YOUR JUST TAKIN' A CHEAP SHOT AT SOMEONE WHO'S WORKED HARD IN THE INDUSTRY TO BRING THE REAL UNDILUTED HIP HOP TO THE MASSES. HOW CAN U DISS THE MAN AND THEN SAY PEACE...STRAIGHT PUSSY SHIT MY DUDE! YO MK TAKE A PIC OF THE TAPES AND SHOW THIS GUY OUT FOR THE DUNCE THAT HE IS.

Peeps like the Letter D need to do some research before they start callin' anyone out. I've known MK long enough to vouch for the fact that he definitely ain't new to this and his tape (and vinyl) collection & knowledge RUNS DEEP!!!

To the Letter D, you need to shut up and get your facts right. I bought my first Mr Cee mixtape from MK back in 1992 and anyone who knows the London Scene knows MK has done paid his dues. How else would he get a prime time hip hop shows on London's Kiss FM. Check the Link fool.

yo MK, what's up with part 1 of this tape???????

thanks for the gems btw.

The Letter D seems to be very quiet right about now. Dude should just admit he's wrong but hey i guess he's too busy discussing the qualities of Saul Williams rhyme style on some board somewhere.

letter D must feel like the prick that he is

first of all, as the saying goes, know your history (you prick)

secondly, why get bitter at someone and something you know nothing about (you prick)

thirdly, typical behaviour of an internet try-hard spreading e-hate and misinforming the people with opinions

fourth-ly, you obviously thought u were listening to the jack-off hour

fifthly, suck T nutz

sixth-ly, pussying out at the end

seventh-ly, the funniest thing is that we were all there and doin it since back in the day and i'll bet money that you're bitter either because weren't.... or because you were and you never amounted anything more than some hating web master

finally, letter D you're a prick, go and program some html code or suttm
