Double O Badly Assaulted By Security in Arizona

Props to ON SMASH

Double O from the hip hop group Kidz In The Hall was assaulted by several bouncers early Saturday morning, July 26, while inside a nightclub in Tempe, AZ following a Kidz In The Hall performance. Group member and friend Naledge, who did not witness the assault on Double O, was arrested outside of the club. Naledge’s attempt to get medical assistance for Double O was misconstrued as a hinderence to the investigation. Reports that no injuries were sustained are false as Double O was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries from the excessive force used by club security. On Sunday morning Double O underwent surgery for one of his injuries. He is still in the hospital, but in stable condition.

In the last 2 years, Kidz In The Hall have traveled to over 10 countries, have done 200+ shows and never before been involved in any altercation, big or small, with club or concert security, or police officers.

Yo on the real this is messed up. Anyone who knows Double O knows he's a peaceful dude, and defiantly not the type of guy to cause any ruckus in a club. I was with Double O 3 weeks ago at a club in London, and he was doing what he always does...having fun!!!! and certainly not causing any problems. The state of Arizona has along history of being hating hip hop and being straight up raciest(check out the public enemy track,by the time i get to Arizona

By the Time I Get to Arizona

By the Time I Get to Arizona
Ridenhour - Robertz - Gary G-Wiz - Depper - Mandrill - Santiago

I'm countin' down to the day deservin'
Fittin' for a king
I'm waitin' for the time when I can
Get to Arizona
'Cause my money's spent on
The goddamn rent
Neither party is mine not the
Jackass or the elephant
20.000 nig niggy nigas in the corner
Of the cell block but they come
From California
Population none in the desert and sun
Wit' a gun cracker
Runnin' things under his thumb
Starin' hard at the postcards
Isn't it odd and unique?
Seein' people smile wild in the heat
120 degree
'Cause I wanna be free
What's a smilin' fact
When the whole state's racist
Why want a holiday F--k it 'cause I wanna
So what if I celebrate it standin' on a corner
I ain't drinkin' no 40
I B thinkin' time wit' a nine
Until we get some land
Call me the trigger man
Looki lookin' for the governor
Huh he ain't lovin' ya
But here to trouble ya
He's rubbin' ya wrong
Get the point come along
An he can get to the joint
I urinated on the state
While I was kickin' this song
Yeah, he appear to be fair
The cracker over there
He try to keep it yesteryear
The good ol' days
The same ol' ways
That kept us dyin'
Yes, you me myself and I'ndeed
What he need is a nosebleed
Read between the lines
Then you see the lie
Politically planned
But understand that's all she wrote
When we see the real side
That hide behind the vote
They can't understand why he the man
I'm singin' 'bout a king
They don't like it
When I decide to mike it
Wait I'm waitin' for the date
For the man who demands respect
'Cause he was great c'mon
I'm on the one mission
To get a politician
To honor or he's a gonner
By the time I get to Arizona

I got 25 days to do it
If a wall in the sky
Just watch me go thru it
'Cause I gotta do what I gotta do
PE number one
Gets the job done
When it's done and over
Was because I drove'er
Thru all the static
Not stick but automatic
That's the way it is
He gotta get his
Talin' MLK
Gonna find a way
Make the state pay
Lookin' for the day
Hard as it seems
This ain't no damn dream
Gotta know what I mean
It's team against team
Catch the light beam
So I pray
I pray everyday
I do and praise jah the maker
Lookin' for culture
I got but not here
From jah maker
Pushin' and shakin' the structure
Bringin' down the babylon
Hearin' the sucker
That make it hard for the brown
The hard Boulova
I need now
More than ever now
Who's sittin' on my freedah'
Opressor people beater
Piece of the pick
We picked a piece
Of land that we deservin' now
Reparation a piece of the nation
And damn he got the nerve
Another niga they say and classify
We want too much
My peep plus the whole nine is mine
Don't think I even double dutch
Here's a brother my attitude hit 'em
Hang 'em high
Blowin' up the 90s started tickin' 86
When the blind get a mind
Better start and earn while we sing it
Now
There will be the day we know those down and who will go

CLASSIC 80'S LONDON PIRATE RADIO.TIM WESTWOOD - TREVOR "MADHATTER" NELSON.KISS FM 1986

Back in 86 if you wanted to hear any type of decent music on the radio you certainly wernt gonna hear it on Radio 1, or Capital. It was all about the Pirates. Kiss was set up in 1985 by Gordon mack and alongside LWR they were the 2 major players on the pirate scene. The rare groove scene was in full swing and its safe to say that Westwood and Trevor were defiantly doing there things, and holding down the warehouse parties and the clubs.

Boy its crazy to think that the station i dj on now which is a huge million pound business , used to be a pirate radio station which broadcasted in different locations every night out of peoples bedrooms and various other locations....and all for the love of music.

On this tape both dj's are killing it with the rare groove selection...I left the adds in too, which are pure jokes.

Check out the classic Kiss line photo above, and props to my man Patrick Forge pictured whose still on the station 21 years later, still doing his thing!!! (check him out every Sunday nigh/Monday morning 1-3am)

I'd love to hear a 2008 version of this.....Now that would be jokes..HOLLLLLLLLLLAAAA

NEIL ARMSTRONG

I met Neil back in 97 i think though DJ Pogo when we just opened up deal real records. Neil is not only one of the dopest djs in the world but hes also one of the coolest djs in the world you could meet...All round good dude.. A few months ago he was asked to dj for Jay z , and now hes touring the world with jay and getting the props he deserves.

Over the years he's made tons of dope mixtapes. Check the new heat HERE.... and catch Neil on my radio show on KISS 2nite...He'll be live in the mix , killing it like he always does...

Aaron LaCrate Photography Exhibit

Shout out to my dude Aaron LaCrate. Not only is he a sick dj/producer but he also handy with the camera.....

PS....Look out for the Aaron Lacrate- DJMK colabo real soon

DJ SKINNY BONES AKA STRETCH ARMSTRONG WKCR 1991

Stretch Armstrong is another one of those djs who id put up in the top 10 of my favorite djs ever.
I'm sure you all don't need a history lesson on the dude. Stretch and Bob had THE best radio show in the 90's in NYC. Over here in London we used to crave for these tapes like a crack head chases rock. What i used to love about their show was that it was so funny....some of there best shows was just when it was stretch and bob chatting ish,or arguing live on air about one or the other being late for the show..

This tape is the earliest Stretch tape i have. Props to my homeboy DJ KUKU who recorded this on a trip to New York back in 91.
Stretch is killing it, cutting up lovely. Think E-Kim is doing all the hosting and theres heat from the likes of Kool g Rap, Eric B and Rakim, Lakim Shabazz, K-solo, and Big daddy kane amongt others.

Stretch has a dope blog which he's posted tons of his old classic tapes http://konstantkontakt.blogspot.com/

DR DRE MIX TAPE 1988

OK....More heat from the MK archives. Going though the dusty crates of my tape collection found about 4 Dr Dre Swap meet mix tapes. 3 of them are from 1987 and this one is from 1988.
Dre is killing it in this mix. Dude is getting busy cutting up joints like Beats to the rhyme, It takes two,as well as a NWA freestyle. This is recorded on a 4 track which makes it even more doper as he does intros for both sides.
What i find strange about this tape is that Dre is still actually making mixtapes in 1988. By that time NWA were out and getting bigger by the minute, and he already had the (dodgy) success of the world class wreckin crew. Must have just loved doing mix tapes!!

Detox is supposed to be dropping by the end of the year too.....Mmmmmmmm, i wonder....

TRADING PLACES

BEST PARTY IN THE WEST END....
PART 2 OF THE DRAMA...
A-CYDE AND REGGIE ON THE WHEELS..

THE EQUALIZER

I've got a really good idea for a TV show. Take a old age pensioner from England, let him run free amongst the crack heads of 1980's NYC, and get him to solve crime. Sound good??? Actually the equalizer was dope. A classic 80's TV show, which people don't really talk about . I remember watching the intro to this just to see the graff on the trains. He drove a jag and didn't take no shorts...big up to Robert McCall.

Somebody needs to sample the into music to this ASAP!!

Check the clips below....all 80's baby's HOLLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MORE HEAT FROM THE MK ARCHIVES......

Pete Rock was a teenager when he did this mix for WBLS back in 1989... I remember Marley Marl told me they used to call Pete "Hungry cuts" cos he sounded so hungry to get on and do his thing. This is one of the sickest Pete rock tapes you'll hear PERIOD.If you want me to upload some more Pete rock just let me know....if i get enough comments I'll upload some more heat tomorrow..

This is one of the sickest radio mixes i ve ever heard him do...He goes in HARD!!!!

Remember this is BEFORE SERATO........Check how fast he goes though his records and he's so on point...In fact Kid Capri did a Little stint on WBLS back in the day so I'm gonna have to dig them out and post them...

NAS NEXT 2 ALBUMS TO BE PRODUCED BY PREMIER AND DRE

So the God Nas recentley said he wants his next 2 albums to be exclusively produced by Dre and Premier. Nas was the 1st New York dude to work with Dre and of corse we all remember the Premier bangers from the first album onwards..

Last time i saw Nas i asked him if he was ever gonna do an album just with Premo and he said he was definatley down for it, it was just a matter of time.. Presonally i cant see this happening, but IF it did i think it would be a good look for hip hop and all the parties involved.... Can u ever see this happening??????? Let me know, and check the article HERE

DJ PREMIER -THE QUIET STORM WBLS 107.5 1994

When my man in NYC sent me over this tape back in 94 i thought christmas had come. In 94 we all new Premier was dope on the cut and an amazing producer but we didnt know how nice he really was on the ones and twos.

This was the first time i ever heard Premo get busy in the mix and he kills it...lots of underground gems from Nine,Snagapuss, Black moon, Dmx, Scarface and much more....

Premiers got the sickest flow when it comes to cutting up two copies of a record. Shout me back and leave a comment yo!!

TIMBO AND JIGGA JOIN FORCES

With more than enough albums to speak for already, Brooklyns number one Emcee, Jay-Z looks to be heading back into the studio to work on another album, and with more than enough producers looking to have their beats on his album, Jay decided to pick one super producer to do it all, Timbaland.

"He wants me to do the whole thing this time around, I'mma make it a classic too. You better believe it. It'll be a monster! I always say this: You get a first single from me, I'mma get you up to gold. And it's hard to get you up to gold in this day and age."

As the producer for Hov's next album, Timbaland is sure that the album will do more than 500,000 records.

"Jay should never chill, we had a long talk, and I really talked to him. Jay-Z does it for the love. That's different. When somebody does it for the love, you don't stop. He has everything, but he's still current. A million people are buying his album regardless.”

ROOTS MANUVA - AGAIN & AGAIN

SICK NEW VIDEO...PEEP IT...

KOOL MOE D V BUSY B 1981 THE WHOLLE THING!!!

So one of the most famous old skool battles was between kool moe d and busy b. There were plenty of other well known battles like cold crush v fantastic but this is my favorite. At the time kool moe d was just starting to make noise with the treacherous 3. When i was a kid growing up, i actually thought that dude was blind like stevie wonder and thats why he ALWAYS had his star trek shades on..Busy b was dope but definitely more of a party mc. Listen to how prepared Kool moe d is for this battle...he went in hard!!! and even by today's standards he still sounds dope.He killed poor Busy who obviously didnt think it was gonna be a serious thing..

.Busy B came back out in 87 with the GOD Jazzy Jay and released some classic records with Running things, and Suicide, then disappeared. Kool Moe D did well up to 87 then LL Cool J released Jack The Ripper and basicly ended his career. LOADS OF OTHER BLOGS HAVE BUT UP THIS TAPE, BUT THIS IS THE WHOLE BATTLE...90 minutes worth, which im pretty sure aint ever been posted anywhere.....This tape is dope because it really captures what the hip hop scene was like back in 81. Thrers not thousands and thousands of screaming people more like a couple of hundred. Also for one of the 1st times ever we see New York Mc's spitting over a UK ARTISTS MUSIC(Junior Mama used to say) Cheek out the compare of the night and how he cusses the hecklers hard.....Pure jokes, you gotta here it....

PART 1- HERE

PART 2 - HERE
